FUNEUCH, adj. Given by dictt. as “glad, pleased, merry” but evidently a misreading of fu [e]neuch, proud enough, proud indeed, where the form fou has been used instead of the more usual Full, adj., 2.Lnk. 1863 J. Hamilton Poems 56:
Oh, funeuch and fain, Was I whan I ca'd the dear lassock my ain.
