That's coorse, raw claith. See foo ma breeks is aa frizzin oot about the knees. Tie a knot on the eyn o' that tow and haud it on-frizzlet out.

[Origin uncertain. Phs. a conflation of fray and Faize, v.1, or an extended meaning of Eng. frizz, to curl, to raise a nap on cloth. O.Sc. has frese, id., 1506.]
