FREQUENT, v. Also frequant (Abd., Ags.). [frə′kwɛnt, -′kwɑnt]

1. With wi: to associate, keep company, meet with (Sh., Abd., Ags.1, Slg., Fif., m.Lth.1 1953). Now obs. in Eng.Sc. 1824 Scott St Ronan's W. xxx.:
He's a queer auld cull, he disna frequent wi' other folk.

2. To acquaint, inform (Ags. 1808 Jam.; Uls. c.1920 J. Logan Uls. in X-Rays vi.).

[2. is due to a corruption of Forquant, q.v.]
