FORETHROCK, n. In the ten- or twelve-oxen plough, one of the pair third from the front of the team. The animal on the ploughman's left walking on the unploughed land was the fore throck on land, the animal on his right in the furrow the fore throck in fur (Abd. 1858 J. B. Pratt Buchan 18).
