FORESHOP, n. A shop fronting the street. See also s.v. Fore, adj.Edb. 1739 Caled. Mercury (11 Jan.):
Exposed to voluntary Roup and Sale . . . those three Booths or Fore-shops, whereof two are high, ascending by Steps, and the other laigh.
Abd. 1758 Abd. Journal (19 Dec.):
The house hath a fore shop, and each flat hath a kitchen chimney.
Edb. 1821 D. Haggart Life 51:
I left the room . . . and went into the fore-shop, which was fitted up as a coffee-room.
