FAN-DAN, n. A kind of marble. Also a skittle, usually made from an empty cartridge, used in marble games (Abd. 1951).Abd. 1934 Abd. Press and Jnl. (13 Nov.) 2:
“The beetles” and “the fan-dan” were the two types of “bools” in which those of a capitalist turn of mind specialised.
