1. n. An equal, match in marriage.Abd. 1768 A. Ross Helenore 105:
'Tis nae feer for feer, sae poor fouk dinna joak, Ye'll get your eekfull, an' she'll get her luck.
2. adj.
(1) Equal, just (Ags. 1808 Jam., eek-fow).
(2) Equable in temper, “blythe, having an affable demeanour” (Ayr. 1825 Jam.2, eekfow).
