1. adj. Pliant, limp, soft; weak, feeble (Abd. 1921 W. Walker W.-L., dweffle, dwaffle). Also dwevle (Mry.1 1925; Abd.8 1917), †dwaffil, ¶dwafu'.Mry. 1922 Swatches 22:
He wis dwafu' an' quaiat eneuch.
Fif. 1825 Jam.2:
As dwaffil as a clout.

2. v. To weaken, to fade away.Sc.(E) 1871 P. H. Waddell Psalms ix. 6:
