DUMBA, Domba, n. The fine refuse of kiln-dried corn after winnowing (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.; 1908 Jak. (1928), dumba, domba; 1914 Angus Gl.; Sh.10 1950).Sh. 1899 J. Spence Folk-Lore 172:
On the wall hung a straw mat, called a flakkie, on which the corn was winnowed after being thrashed, and to separate the dumba before being ground.
