DISCHARGE, v. Sc. usage: to forbid, prohibit. Gen. in legal usage. Often used with from. Also in Eng. dial.Sc. 1799 H. Mitchell Scotticisms 30:
He discharged me from entering his house.
Sc. 1825 Faculty Decis. 748:
To prohibit and discharge them . . . from carrying off . . . the said fodder.
Abd. 1730 in Process Powis v. Fraserfield (1805) 326:
Archibald Campbell, Procurator Fiscal, . . .craved that he might be discharged from doing thereof.
Hdg. 1702 Rec. Sc. Cloth Manuf. (S.H.S. 1905) 313:
Which custome of altering of numbers wee strictlye discharge from this very time.
Lnk. 1712 J.P.s Lnk. (S.H.S. 1931) 130:
