DEMELLIT, v., pa.p. “Hurt, injured, disordered” (Ags. 1808 Jam.). Hence demellitie, “a hurt, a stroke, an injury of what kind soever” (Ib.); trouble, emergency, dire straits. Ags. 1853 W. Blair Aberbrothock 79:
In this demelity, Nelly had cum across an' just saezed the sodger's hand.
