DAER, n. One that thrives (well or ill); applied to an animal (with qualifying adj.). Also found in s.Eng. dial. in form doer (E.D.D.).Kcb.10 1940:
Guid daers, used of thriving animals.
Ant. 1928 A. McGladdery in Ir. Breeder (Jan.) 18:
She [cow] cud be a gid daer as ready as no.
