CRICKET, n. Grasshopper (Lth., Rxb. 1825 Jam.2; Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B., Rxb. 1941 (per Lnk.11)). The term cricket is used in Eng. for the grasshopper, but usually with a qualifying adj. (Webster).
