COUMB, n. ? Variant of Coom, n.2 (cf. Coumit-bed, below).Sc. 1752 Third Earl of Cromartie in Earls of Crm. (ed. Fraser 1876) II. 238:
If no tolerable price can be got for them [beds], have no scrouple about dismounting them; that is, in pulling all the stuff of[f] the coumbs of the velvet, and blue sowed beds.
