COAL AND CANDLE-LIGHT, n.phr. The long-tailed duck, Anas (Harelda) glacialis (Ork. 1885 C. Swainson Brit. Birds 161; e.Lth. 1867 W. P. Turnbull Birds E. Lth. 30s.). Also called col-candle-wick (Fif. Ib.), col-cannel-week (Fif.1 1933). Cf. Calloo.
