CLAWIN POST, n. comb. A rubbing post for cattle (Bnff.2, Ags.1, Kcb.11937). Sometimes also clawin steen (Abd.4 1930). Cf. Claw-scrunt. Bch. 1925  (per Abd.15):
Aw see the aul fun mill's set up noo on'ts edge for a clawin post.
