CHIMINS, n.pl. "'Sowens,' furmenty" (Sc. 1911 S.D.D.); "the seeds or inner husks of oats, soaked in water to become a jelly and then boiled in water or milk, and eaten as a delicacy" (E.D.D.). Also found in n.Eng. dial. Not known to our correspondents.
