BORN HEAD, BORNE-HEAD, adv. and adj.

1. adv. “Straight forward in an impetuous manner” (Slk. 1825 Jam.2). Slk. 1822  Hogg Perils of Man I. x.:
For ought he kens, ye may be carrying him born head to his honour just now.

2. adj. “Headlong, furious” (Upp. Clydes. 1825 Jam.2, borne-head).
