BOG, n.4 ? A load. Not known to our correspondents. Cf. Bog, v.2, 2.Slk. 1710 in T. Craig-Brown Hist. of Slksh. (1886) II. 239:
A “complement of 40 horses to bring home 40 bog to his lordship” [Lord Bowhill, who was building a new house near Selkirk].
