BOCRUM, n. Buckram. The N.E.D. gives the forms bokram, bocram(e) as being used in Eng. in the 15th and 16th centuries. [′bɔkrəm]Abd. 1923 J. Imray Village Roupie, etc. 23:
Bocrum, flannins, an' dowlas, a' patterns o' tweeds, Braw bonnets and hats for a' sizes o' heids.

[O.Sc. bukram (17 variants with termination -m(e) and only 2 with -n(e)). The m variants would come from It. bucherame rather than from O.Fr. bouqueran, Mod.Fr. bougran. D.O.S.T. gives no form in O.Sc. with o in the first syllable.]
