BLAWERTS, n.pl. A blacksmith's bellows. [′blɑ(w)ərts]Ags. 1867 G. W. Donald Poems, etc. 82:
An' he wha wi' his brawny arm Fills a' the clachan wi' his din, Outower his studdie felt the charm, An' loot his blawerts tyne the win'.
Kcb.1 1934:
The blacksmith at Clarebrand is familiar with “blawerts,” the “smiddy” bellows, but does not think it is still in use.

[From O.E. blāwan, to blow + suff. -ert (= er), influenced by Fr. -ard, -art, as in braggart. The s is perhaps due to bellows.]
