BJELSET, adj. “Having a white ring around the neck, as a sheep” (Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.).Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
A b[jelset] sheep, a black sheep with a white stripe round the neck, or conversely.

[Jak. suggests O.N. *bi-helsi, helsi, a collar; Sc. Halse, Hause, the neck.]
