BEARANCE, n. Toleration.Peb. 1805 J. Nicol Poems II. 96:
Whan for your lies you ask a bearance, They soud, at least, hae truth's appearance.

[The N.E.D. gives one instance of this word in the sense of endurance (1725) and describes it as arch. Abear, endure, is common in Eng. dial. and abearance is given = behaviour in N.E.D. Not in O.Sc.]
