Won(n)yn(g, Wynnyng, n. Also: wonnyn(g)e, -ing, woning, wyn(n)ing, wynyng, winnyng, -ing, veaning, (wonnent). [ME and e.m.E. wunienge (c1200), won(n)ing (both Cursor M.), OE wunung.]

1. Habitation, the action or state of occupying a place. Chiefly, to mak or have one's wonnyng, to make one's home or place of occupation, to dwell. Passing into sense 2 below. a1400 Leg. S. xxxvi 761.
