Wedsetting, -yng, vbl. n. Also: vedsettyng, wodsetting, wadsetting, -yng, vidsettyng. [Late ME wedsettynge (Prompt. Parv.).] The action of pledging (land, etc.) (Wedset(t v.); the pledge itself (Wedset(t n. 1).(a) 1400 Maxwell Mem. 140.
