Walit, Wail(l)it, ppl. adj. Also: valit, walyt, -et, -ed, wald(e, wallyt, -et, -'d, wailet, -(e)d, wail(l)'d, wayled, we(i)llit, weil'd, wyled. Superl. waltest. [Late north. ME walid (Destr. Troy).] Chosen, selected, picked, usu. implying the best or pick. (Cf. Wale n. 2). Freq. in collocation with Chosin ppl. adj. Also const. out. See also Hand-wail'd ppl. adj.Cf.
