Upgiffar, -gevar, -giver, n. Also: upgiffair, -gever, -gevear, -geaver, -wer. [Upgif(f v.] a. One who resigns (a right, etc.). b. One who hands over or presents information (once, a person), etc., esp. by way of a formal document, to a court or other authority.a. 1640 Aberd. Council Lett. II 156.
