Thare betwix, Thairbetuix, adv. Also: thare betuene, thar betwex, ther betwyx. [Thar(e adv. and Betwix prep., Betwene prep.] Between these (points, etc.). Appar. only in Orkney and Shetland, chiefly in the phrase the first penny and the last and all thare betwix, = the full amount. —(a) 1455 Rec. Earld. Orkney 190.
