Swevyngeour, n. [Sweven n., with influence from Swingeo(u)r n. Cf. ME sweuenere (Wyclif).] A dreamer, appar. an alteration of swengeour (Swingeo(u)r n.) a ruffian, under the influence of swevynnys earlier in the line. — 1513 Doug. viii Prol. 171 (Ruddim.) (see Swingeo(u)r n. (a)).
