Stannery courtis, Stanry courtis. [17th c. Eng. Stannery courts (1602), f. late ME and e.m.E. Stannarie (1455).] The courts of law for the administration of justice in the Stannaries or tin mining areas of Devon and Cornwall. — c1650 Spalding I 356.
To the declaratioun set out and send to him by both parliamentis of Ingland in whiche (his Majesties ansuer) is contened more crediblie sum certane actis sic as ane bill past … for taking away the star chalmer and heighe commissioun courtis, or regulating the counsall table, for forrestis, stannery [marg. stanry] courtis [etc.]
