Stampar, -er, n. [17th c. Eng. stamper (1602), in this sense; cf. ME and e.m.E. stampere (Wyclif), stamper (Caxton), etc. in various other senses.] The pestle (of two or more) in a crushing or pounding machine, esp. in a stamping-mill. (Cf. Stamping vbl. n.) — 1609 Hilderstoun Silver Mines I 165b.
