Sonrent, n. [Appar. a nonce-form, by analogy with Manrent n.; Son(e n.2] A solemn undertaking to be ‘man’ or faithful supporter to a superior to whom one's father has already given a bond of manrent. — 1476 Thanes of Cawdor 61.
