Rolment, n. Also: roll-, rol(l)e-, roul-; row-, rou- and -mant, -mond, -mont, -mount; roli-, rolument. [Rol(l n.1 and -ment.]

1. A detailed record of the proceedings during a hearing in a court of law; any particular entry forming part of such a record.Appar. based on notes made during the hearing by the clerk, and later engrossed into the court book.Freq., rolment(is of (the, a, etc.) court.Originally so called because made on a roll of parchment or paper: cf. Rol(l n.1 1.(1) 1410–11 Reg. Episc. Brechin. I 30.
