Reduct(t)ive, adj. Also: -iwe. [Cf. F. réductif (1314 in Dauzat), 17th c. Eng. reductive (1633). Cf. also Reduce v. 10.] Only Sc.: That has to do with legal reduction; that ‘reduces’ or annuls.Appar. only in post-positional use. 1547 Reg. Morton II 297.
