Rachtir, Raucht(t)er, n. Also: rachter, -ar, (rather); raychter; rauchta(i)r, -o(u)r, rawchtir, -our, rawcheter, rawghter, ra(g)chtre, (raucher, rautur). [MDu. and MLG rachter, of the same ulterior origin as MLG rafter, OE ræfter Raftre n.] A plank or beam of wood. Also attrib. For many further instances see Treas. Acc. I-V and VII-IX and M.
