Promoving, vbl. n. Also: -movyng, -moveing, -moueing, -mow(e)ing, -mooving. [Late ME promovyng (15th c.).] a. Advancement or promotion of a person (in or to high rank or office). = Promotioun(e n. 1. b. Advancement or furtherance of a cause, interest or the like. = Promotioun(e n. 2.a. 1496 Douglas Chart. 160.
