Prid(e, Pryd(e, v. [ME (Rolle) and e.m.E., also Kentish preden and early south-western pruden (Leg. Kath.), f. Prid(e n.] reflex. To be or become proud or vain, to feel pride. Variously const.(1) 1375 Barb. xix 699 (E).
