Petitionating, vbl. n. [Cf. 17th c. Eng. petitionate v. (1624), tr. to address with petitions, intr. to present a petition.] The act of presenting (a suit at law) in the form of a petition. See Petitio(u)n(e n. 3. — 1633 Johnston Diary I. 174.
