[f. as Perle n.2, Perling n.: cf. e.m.E. purl(e)d (a 1622).] Trimmed with ‘pearl’ (Perle n.2, Perling n., esp. b, c), purled; ‘having a border of lace; ornamented with a worked border’ (Jam., 1825, 1880).It is possible that the Clariodus example is intended for Perlit ppl. a.1(1) 15..
