Palice, -yce, Palace, n.2 [ME. (14th c.) palis, -ys, -ays, -aies, -es, e.m.E. pales, a palisade, also, an enclosure, F. palis, OF. also paleis, palisse, med. L. palicium.] A place surrounded by a palisade, an enclosure: applied to a. a park or garden, b. a fortified town. (Only in Douglas.) 1501 Doug. Pal. Hon. 52 (E).
