Cf. mod. dial. paik to walk steadily and continuously, paikie an itinerant walker, (causey-) paiker a street-walker.] A walker.Only in Lynd. as the second element of a compound in cal-, cawsay-paikar, one constantly on the move from place to place. 1540 Lynd. Sat. 2202 (B).
