Inglisman, Inglischman, n. Also: inglise-, ingles-, ingillis-, ynglis-; inglische-, ingleisch-, ingglesh-. [North. ME. inglis man (a 1300): cf. Englishman. In early texts often written as two words, but in the 16th c. chiefly as one. The early example of the c form is exceptional.] An Englishman. In pl., often = the English nation, the English.(a) 1375 Barb. ii. 106; etc.
