Impetratioun, -acioun, n. Also: -ion(e, impetracoun. [L. impetrātio; e.m.E. impetracyon (1526), but appar. chiefly Sc.]

1. The obtaining by application to an authority. a. Espec., the obtaining of church benefices in the papal court.Also in early use to mak impetration (= application). 1484 Acts II. 166/1.
