Governance, n. Also: -aunce, -ans; gowern-, govirnance. [ME. governance, -aunce (c 1374), OF. gouvernance.]
1. The act or occupation of governing in various senses of the verb. (See Governe v. 1–3.)In common use c 1400–1560.(1) a1400 Leg. S. xii. 126.
