Gard-, Gairdhous, n. [Gard n. 2. App. not in English before 1698.] A house for the accommodation of a guard.(a) 1572-5 Diurn. Occurr. 276.
Ane suddane fyre [in 1560] in ane certane pouder being in the gardhous within Leith 1600-1610 Melvill 384.
