(Mauchlyne,) Mauchling, -lene, Machling, -lyne, n.2. The town of Mechlin (cf. Mauchlyne n.1), notorious as a place of origin of counterfeits of small billon or copper coins. — 1569-73 Bann. Memor. 139.
I doubt not but faith and love is left in Machling, in wode of hardheidis, whair mony of your merchandis leivis thaire faith 1575 Selkirk B. Ct. MS. 15 May.
