Deficient, n. [From Deficient,a.] One who fails to comply with a requisition or demand; a defaulter. 1645 St. A. Presb. 27.
Those quho are appointed to plunder deficients drinke quhat they plunder 1650 Aberd. B. Rec. IV. 113.
To quarter the saids sojouris … wpone the deficientis till the said taxatioun and mantenance be payit 1664 Melrose R. Rec. II. 89.
