Bursar, Burser, n. Also: bursare, -air. [med. L. bursarius, f. bursa purse.] A student or scholar who receives the benefit of a ‘burse’. (Cf. Bursour n. 2 and Busser.)(a) 1563-1570 Buch. Wr. 8.
