Assentatioun, -ione, n. [Late ME. assentacyon (1481), e.m.E. assentation, F. assentation, L. assentātio.] Obsequious or subservient assent. —1531 Bell. Boece I. 218 (vane favour and assentatioun of pepil); II. 21 (be vane assentationis and subtell behavingis). 1549 Compl. 3/4 (assentatione or adulatione).
