Amervail, Amervel, v. [ME. amervail (14th c.), OF. amerveillier.] tr. To strike with wonder or astonishment; to fill with surprise. Chiefly in p.p. 1456 Hay II. 77.
Thou sais that thou art amervailet that I may abstene me fra thy presence Ib. 151.
Off the quhilk the king was mekle amervailit 1513 Doug. x. viii. 20.
